The Dichotomies of Fashion
Marcus A. Wilmont’s problem statement is: Can I use Universal Design Theory to create new educational tools or teaching activities for the Royal Danish Academy’s – Fashion, Clothing and Textile Master’s degree, that will strengthen our students understanding of form-giving in relation to different abilities, representation, diversity, and inclusion?
Marcus will engage with students, educators, and expert in the field to challenge the status quo in fashion education by conducting innovative Universal Design-based workshops that encourage and inspire students to look past systemic barriers.
Marcus plans to conduct his investigation at Bunka and Osaka- UEDA, Japan and Parsons New School, US in March/April 2024, August/September 2024 and October 2024.
