An Honourable Elderhood
Emma Doolan’s problem statement is: How is it possible to work with sensory-stimulating aids that replicate everyday objects, promoting well-being and dignity for individuals with dementia?
Emma is embarking on an investigation into dementia care and sensory stimulation in France. This multifaceted study involves in-depth interviews, on-site visits to institutions, collaborative workshops, detailed case studies, and a comparative analysis with Danish practices. Her objective is to gain profound insights into the challenges and successes in this field. This will offer valuable perspectives on the impact of cultural and legislative factors on sensorystimulating aids. Additionally, she will collect and analyze quantitative data to assess the effectiveness of different strategies in enhancing dignity and, thereby, the quality of life for those with dementia.
Emma plans to conduct her investigation in the spring of 2024. *Emma will no longer participate in her planned project trip as she is expecting a child.
