Advancing Spatial Equity Through AI: A Study of Universal Design Principles in the Public Sphere

Tackling the lack of diverse and equitable urban space is Aleksandra Mostovaja’s primary area of interest. Aleksandra will be working as a co-researcher at an already existing research project at The University of Montreal called Inclusive Streets AI project/AI-EDI. Here she will be adjusting the parameters for the existing AI tools so that they match the Universal Design principles and analyze the role of language in AI research. This will be under the guidance of The UNESCO Chair of Urban Landscape, Shin Koseki, the UNESCO research team and Rashid Mushkani, the PhD student.

Aleksandra plans to conduct her investigation at Montreal, Canada from February to May 2024.
